Build the surface
Degreasing, sanding, patching, masking, containment, edge work, and the unglamorous steps that determine adhesion.
Prep is production.Hiring now W-2 / Painter + Spray Finisher
I’m hiring for a current W-2 opening in my owner-led finish shop. If your background isautomotive refinishing, cabinet or furniture finishing, or residential painting, I want to see how your habits transfer.
WHY THIS ROLE / 01
Automotive refinishers already understand contamination control, surface readiness, gun setup, overlap, lighting, and the cost of rushing a coat. Cabinet and furniture finishers understand flatness, edges, touch, and consistency. Residential painters understand production, occupied homes, and clean handoffs.
I’m looking for the person who takes those habits seriously. The role includes surface prep, masking, brushing and rolling, spray finishing, shop work, field work, and careful communication around a client’s home.
THE WORK / 02
Parallel Painting is built around cabinet refinishing, designer wallpaper, wall prep, and selective painting. I stay directly involved in the work and train to a visible standard.
Degreasing, sanding, patching, masking, containment, edge work, and the unglamorous steps that determine adhesion.
Prep is production.HVLP and airless spray work, brush-and-roll painting, between-coat checks, and a clean read under honest light.
Consistency beats speed.Floor and furniture protection, tidy work zones, clear communication, and no leaving the client with your mess.
The handoff is part of the finish.Schedule and requirements. The role may be full-time or part-time. Schedule preference, start date, specific work hours, and desired pay are discussed during the hiring process; there is no promise of a fixed number of hours. No formal education requirement or minimum number of years is specified—the application asks about practical skills, relevant background, and experience.
WHAT I NOTICE / 03
You see defects before the topcoat. You inspect angles, edges, contamination, and surface readiness without being chased.
You protect the process. You do not trade tomorrow’s failure for today’s shortcut.
You can work around people. You communicate, show up prepared, and treat occupied homes with care.
You want more responsibility. The right person can grow from reliable production help into deeper finish work.
