What makes a quality interior paint job last?

A quality interior paint job is decided by the prep and the hand doing the work: patched spots primed, nail holes filled flush, clean tape lines, two coats of premium paint, and crisp cut lines at every ceiling and trim transition. Parallel Painting paints walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and crown molding across Temecula Valley and the Coachella Valley with owner Tyler Fowler personally on every job. CSLB Licensed #1015608, in business since 2016.

Interior painting gets done badly more often than almost any other residential trade. Walls rolled fast without primer on the patched spots. Trim brushed sloppy with paint left on the baseboard. Nail holes half-filled that ghost through the finish coat. None of it shows until the paint dries and the tape comes off — by which point the crew is already gone.

That is not how we work. Tyler handles every interior project himself — the prep, the paint, and the final walkthrough before the job is called done. If something is not right, it gets fixed on the spot. No crews delegated, no subcontractors. The person you call about an issue is the same person who did the work.

We serve Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, and Fallbrook in Temecula Valley, plus Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, and La Quinta in the Coachella Valley. If your community requires it, we coordinate access with the property manager in advance. See our scheduling and access page for how we handle scheduling and access.

What We Paint

  • Walls: Smooth, even coverage with premium interior latex. Imperfections filled, surfaces sanded, two coats minimum. True color, no lap marks.
  • Ceilings: Flat or textured ceilings without drips or lap lines. Ceiling-specific paints that minimize spatter. We protect floors and walls during ceiling work.
  • Trim and Baseboards: Crisp, clean lines on all trim. Semi-gloss or satin finish for durability and washability. Hand-cut where needed for accuracy — no sloppy brush work.
  • Interior Doors: Doors sprayed or brushed to a smooth, even finish. Hardware removed, surfaces prepped, hardware reinstalled cleanly. No paint on hinges, knobs, or locks.
  • Crown Molding and Detail Work: Precise painting on crown molding, built-ins, and decorative millwork. We take time with detailed surfaces — no paint buildup in corners, no rough edges.

Our Interior Painting Process

1

Color Consultation

Lighting, flooring, cabinetry, and room size all affect how a color reads. Tyler helps you test samples on your actual walls and confirms the color works in your specific light before any painting starts.

2

Thorough Preparation

Nail holes filled, drywall patches sanded smooth, gaps at trim caulked, clean tape lines applied. Furniture and floors covered with drop cloths and plastic. Prep is where the durability of the finish is determined, and we do not cut it short.

3

Premium Paint Application

Premium interior paints. Two coats minimum on walls — primer on new surfaces or major color changes. Trim gets semi-gloss or satin for durability. Every edge clean.

4

Clean Daily

Drop cloths folded and moved between rooms. Tape removed cleanly. Touch-ups done before we leave each day. The job site at the end of day one should look better than when we arrived — not like a construction zone.

5

Final Walkthrough

Tyler inspects every surface with you before calling the job complete. Touch-ups handled on the spot. No promise to 'come back later.'

Our Specialty: 2K Cabinet Refinishing

While we are in your home for interior painting, one of the most impactful upgrades a kitchen can get is cabinet refinishing. Parallel Painting's cabinet-finishing process uses a two-component (2K) polyurethane system. Parallel Painting uses HEPA-rated extraction and sealed negative-pressure containment during the sanding and finishing stages. A written warranty is included — ask Tyler for the current written terms. Tyler is personally on every cabinet job.

Ask about combining interior painting and cabinet refinishing in a single project. It is the most efficient way to transform both surfaces.

Our other flagship

Want a statement wall while we're painting? Ask about designer wallpaper

Designer wallpaper is our other flagship specialty, and it pairs naturally with fresh paint — one accent wall in grasscloth, a mural, or a specialty paper can anchor a whole room. The same prep-first standard applies: glue removal, patching, skim coat where needed, primer or sealer, clean seams, and careful pattern matching, with Tyler handling the material himself. Combining wallpaper with interior painting in one project is the most efficient way to finish a room.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does interior painting take for a typical house in Temecula or Murrieta?

The schedule depends on the size of the job and the scope — walls only versus walls, ceilings, trim, doors, crown molding, and closets all change the timeline. Tyler gives you a realistic timeline in writing when he does the estimate. We do not rush prep to compress the schedule — that is where the quality gets sacrificed.

Do you paint just walls or do you include ceilings and trim?

We handle any scope you need — walls only, walls and ceiling, walls and trim, full room including crown molding and doors. Tyler separates the room list, trim, ceiling, door, repair, and color-change details in the written estimate so you know exactly what is included. Most homeowners doing a full refresh find it worthwhile to include trim while we are already set up, since trim repaints make a dramatic difference to how fresh and clean a room looks.

What kind of paint do you use for interior painting projects?

We use premium interior paint lines chosen for coverage and color matching. We do not use contractor-grade bargain products. For high-traffic areas (hallways, kitchens, bathrooms), we select washable semi-gloss or satin finishes that hold up to cleaning. For ceilings, flat finishes that minimize light reflection. Product selection is part of every estimate, and Tyler will walk you through the options in person.
