Italian 2K Polyurethane, 5-Year Written Warranty, Tyler on Every Job
I am Tyler Fowler, owner and lead craftsman of Parallel Painting, CSLB licensed #1015608 since 2016, based in Anza, CA. I handle cabinet refinishing with Italian 2K polyurethane — a catalyzed factory-grade finish. Every job gets a 5-year written warranty, HEPA-vacuumed sanding in prep, sealed negative-pressure containment for finishing, and me personally on site from start to finish. No crews, no shortcuts.
I started Parallel Painting in 2016 with a focus on cabinet refinishing — specifically Italian 2K polyurethane, because it is the only coating I am willing to back with a 5-year written warranty. The chemistry is the reason. Two-component catalyzed polyurethane does not dry by evaporation like latex or alkyd paint. The resin and hardener undergo a chemical reaction that produces a thermoset polymer — permanently cross-linked, factory-hard, and resistant to the daily conditions that kill standard cabinet paint in 2-3 years.
Most painters who take on cabinet work apply the same product they use on walls. The result looks acceptable for six months and chips around hardware by year one. I built Parallel Painting around doing this one thing properly — with the right coating, the right prep method, and the right containment setup during finishing.
From Anza to Temecula Valley and Beyond
From my base in Anza, I drive to Temecula, Murrieta, Menifee, Wildomar, Lake Elsinore, Fallbrook, and across to Palm Desert, Palm Springs, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, and La Quinta in the Coachella Valley. CSLB #1015608 keeps it legit and verifiable. I stick to refinishing work I can do correctly — no pushing into services where Italian 2K is not the answer.
Anza sits in the San Jacinto Mountains at about 3,900 feet. CA-371 west gets me to Temecula in 30-35 minutes. CA-74 east over Seven Level Hill drops me into the Coachella Valley in about an hour. Both corridors are regular runs. I have refinished cabinets in every major neighborhood in each area — Redhawk, Vail Ranch, Harveston, De Portola wine country on the west side; Palm Desert country clubs, La Quinta gated communities, Rancho Mirage estates on the east.
Prep That Does Not Wreck Your House
HEPA-vacuumed sanding captures dust at the source during prep. Industrial HEPA vacuums connect directly to the sander — dust pulled at generation point before it travels through your home or settles back onto the surface. Uncontrolled sanding is one of the primary causes of adhesion failure down the line. The prep stage is where most painters take shortcuts you cannot see until the finish fails.
Finishing Without the Mess
We build sealed containment with plastic barrier walls and negative air pressure for the finishing stage — pulls air out, keeps Italian 2K polyurethane overspray and particles locked in the zone. Your living space stays clean throughout the spray phase. This is a different mechanism from the HEPA-vacuumed sanding at prep — different particles, different stage, different control method. Both are required for a professional result.
Every job I finish carries a 5-year written warranty. That is not a marketing claim — it is a document I hand you at the end of the project with specific coverage terms. It is backed by the Italian 2K chemistry, the HEPA-vacuumed prep, and the sealed containment. All three working together are what make five years something I can actually stand behind.
Questions About Tyler and Parallel Painting
What is your CSLB license number and how long have you been licensed?
CSLB #1015608 since 2016. Verifiable at cslb.ca.gov. I have been operating as a licensed contractor in California for ten years, serving homeowners in Temecula Valley, Southwest Riverside County, and the Coachella Valley. The license is current and has never lapsed.
Are you personally on every cabinet refinishing job?
Yes — Tyler Fowler is personally on every job. No crew chiefs, no subcontractors, no project managers. I do the HEPA-vacuumed sanding during prep, I set up the sealed negative-pressure containment, I apply the Italian 2K polyurethane, and I do the final walkthrough with you. The person who gave you the estimate is the person finishing your cabinets.
What makes Italian 2K polyurethane better for cabinets than regular paint?
Italian 2K polyurethane is a two-component catalyzed coating that cross-links into a permanent thermoset polymer during curing. It does not dry by evaporation like paint — it undergoes a chemical reaction that produces factory-grade hardness, heat resistance, UV stability, and chemical resistance. Latex and alkyd paints soften in kitchen heat, yellow under UV, and chip around hardware within 2-3 years. A properly applied Italian 2K finish is expected to last 15-20 years under normal residential conditions. That is the only finish I use, and it is what makes the 5-year written warranty possible.
How do you handle dust during sanding and spraying?
Two separate stages, two separate mechanisms. During prep: HEPA-vacuumed sanding — industrial HEPA vacuums connected directly to the sander, capturing dust at the source before it travels. During finishing: sealed negative-pressure containment — plastic barrier walls around the work area, sealed edges, air pulled out through HEPA filters creating negative pressure inside the zone. Italian 2K polyurethane overspray stays locked inside. These are not the same thing and neither replaces the other.
What does the 5-year written warranty cover?
Peeling, chipping, or adhesion failure from the Italian 2K polyurethane finish. It is a written document with specific terms — not a verbal promise. Covers workmanship defects from the finish system we applied. Excludes normal wear, water damage, modifications after completion, and commercial use. Non-transferable to original homeowner. I handle warranty calls personally — same person who did the work.
